African Swine Fever outbreaks have occurred in some provinces in the North Vietnam, including Hung Yen, Thai Binh, Hai Phong and Thanh Hoa. On February 25, quoted from information source of the Department of Animal Health confirmed the destruction of hundreds of pigs infected with this disease in the middle of February 2019.
According to research by OIE, ASF virus can survive for 2 to 4 months at an infected facility and from 5 to 6 months in infected meat. Because pigs are capable of carrying this virus for a long time and when carrying the disease, it is very difficult to eliminate the pathogen. Not only that, the virus can survive in preserved pork or salted meat, animal feed.
With the probability that 100% of infected animals will die and there is currently no vaccine or special remedy, since the end of 2018, when the epidemic is widespread in the region, Anova Farm has aggressively applied many methods for caring and protecting pigs according to the best international standards as follows:
Anova Farm is committed to implementing the most optimal ASF disease prevention measures for pigs as well as contributing to repel epidemics in cooperation with Vietnamese farmers and protecting consumers. Anova Farm also recommends that farmers in areas where epidemics are not occurring should quickly apply the above proposed methods to protect their animals from disease and avoid economic losses.
